Break Out The Party
Dresses Party People!!
It's time to celebrate the new year and toast the last and we intend to do it with a bang. Tickets are still on sale for the coolest New Year's Eve party in Wichita with King Me and Factor 8 at Loft 150/River City Brewery. The tickets are $20 for a single and $30 for a pair. That includes an awesome buffet, a champagne toast at midnight and a show full of surprises. Trust me. You'll be surprised. You'll be dancing, you'll look up at the band and you'll think, "well that's a surprise". The show's going to be a sell-out. So, go by Loft 150 and get your tickets. Or, call them at 316/263-BREW and get them reserved. Otherwise, your best bet will be to get there early. The doors open at 7:00 and the show starts at 9:30.
King Me will keep the momentum going next weekend with two big shows. January 4th, we'll be back in Springfield, MO to visit our good friends at Cartoon's. Saturday, January 5th, we'll be hitting Tulsa, OK for a fun show at the Full Moon - Cherry Street.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Party People!
What better way to celebrate the holiday season (and the fact that nobody has school on Monday) than to have an ALL AGES concert in Old Town?
The good folks at Fly 92.7 must have been visited by the ghosts of radio stations past, present and future because they've decided to throw a huge party to let the listeners of Wichita know how much they appreciate them. This ALL AGES concert will be this Sunday night, December 23rd, and will feature Source of One, Less than Half, Torn, Factor 8 and King Me. This extravaganza will be hosted by Acapulco Joe's in Old Town. The doors open at 7:00 and the show starts at 7:45. Alcohol will be available to those who are 21+. The Fly has been extremely supportive of local music and it's time to show our support for them. So, see you Sunday.
There are still tickets available for our New Year's Eve party at Loft 150 at the River City Brewery. Tickets are available at the River City Brewery for $20 for a single ticket and $30 for a pair. Doors open at 7:00 and they're going to have a big buffet and a champagne toast at midnight. This will be the coolest New Year's Eve event in Doo Dah and a great place to start breaking your resolutions.

Get Ready Party People!!
This weekend, December 14th and 15th, it's King Me at the Grape in Wichita, KS. Don't forget that at The Grape we start the show off at 9:00 with an acoustic set. We have a great time at The Grape and welcome you all to come out and rock the wine and cheese crowd with us this weekend. Plus, this weekend we'll again be offering four of the limited edition CDs to the top canned food donors each night. Thanks again to all of you who have brought your donations to our shows or dropped them off at The Grape, both Wherehouse Music stores, Midwest Drum and Percussion and Loft 150. You kick ass. All these locations will be accepting donations through the end of the month.
This weekend we'll also be selling tickets to our New Year's Eve show at Loft 150 with Factor 8. We've had a great year and we're looking forward to celebrating it with you at the coolest party in town. Tickets are $20 for an individual and $30 for a couple. The price includes admission (duh), a full buffet and a champagne toast at midnight. It's going to be fun. You can snag tickets from us between sets this weekend at The Grape or drop by Loft 150 at the River City Brewery. It's looking like tickets are going to go pretty quick, so you'll probably want to pick them up soon.
Plus, it's that time of year where I remind you of what great gifts King Me merchandise makes for everyone on your shopping list. CDs, T-shirts, chick-shirts and stickers are perfect presents and you can drink beer while you shop. That doesn't go over very well at the mall. Trust me. It's high quality merchandise at a low, low price from King Me...the band that cares.
We again want to encourage all of you to pester the good people at Fly 92.7 with your appreciation of their support of independent bands from this region. Give them a call at 316-683-5267 or e-mail Corey at CoreyFly927@aol.com and request a song, or just say thanks. They're a breath of fresh airwaves around here and we all need to support them.

Hey Party People!!
Get ready for a good time to be had by all as King Me returns to The Port of Wichita this weekend, December 7th & 8th. We've had some fun concerts out of town lately but are excited to be back home for these shows. In fact, this weekend could only be made more special with the addition of our friends in Factor 8. So, Factor 8 will play too. See how well that works?
Speaking of things that work well, giving out limited edition CDs with songs from our upcoming CD seemed to work well to generate canned food donations for our canned food drive. So, we're doing it again. The top four donors this weekend at The Port of Wichita will receive limited edition CDs with songs from "This Place and Time" including the song "Little Miss Paint" and a version of "Liquefied" that will not be on "This Place & Time". We'll give away four more CDs next weekend too. So don't ever tell us that bribery doesn't work.
Speaking of next weekend, make plans now to come out to see King Me at The Grape in Wichita. I'm serious. Mark your calendars.

Bundle Up and Get on
the Road Party People!!
It's the last road trip of the year and it's shaping up to be a fun one. Of course, they're all fun, this one just looks like it might be a little more fun than some.
This Friday night, November 30th, King Me returns to George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. We love George's. What's not to like? It's majestic. We expect to see all our friends from Fayetteville and maybe even some of you travellers from Tulsa and Springfield this Friday night.
Saturday night, December 1st, it's concert night at Niener's in Independence, MO. We'll be headlining a show with Independence natives Jaded Raven and The Electra Complex. Nieners is a very cool place to play and we're anticipating a stellar turnout this Saturday night. This is a great opportunity for the folks from Kansas City to come to a show and it gives the party crowd from Wichita an excellent excuse for a road trip.
Next, "Little Miss Paint" has been getting great reviews from our airplay in Wichita on Fly 92.7. We would like to ask you all to continue to call them at call at 316-683-5267 or e-mail Corey at CoreyFly927@aol.com and request King Me. Fly 92.7 is bold enough to play King Me songs and we need you to let them know it's appreciated.
Lastly, our canned food drive is going really well but we're not quite where we want to be yet. For that reason, we're going to extend it through the end of the year. We want to sincerely thank those of you who have donated and encourage those of you who have not to please go by Midwest Drum and Percussion, either Wherehouse Music location in Wichita, The Grape and Loft 150 and drop off some cans. Thanks.

Time To Get Thankful
Party People!
It's that time of year again where we commemorate landing on Plymouth Rock and swapping recipes with Native Americans (we call it corn) by eating our weight, watching football, closing down the office and perhaps the most important tradition of all, the King Me Pre-Thanksgiving Bash.
Come out this Wednesday night, November 21st, to Loft 150 at the River City Brewery in Wichita and kick off the holiday season with one of the biggest parties of the year. This year we're honored to have as our special guests Happy Endings from Springfield, MO. We did a show with Happy Endings a few weeks ago and want to encourage everybody to come out early and see this great band. Remember, it's $1.00 off the door charge with your canned food donation and it's 18 to enter, 21 to drink.
Plus, we've got an added incentive for canned food drive donations this Wednesday night. The five people who bring the most canned goods will receive a limited edition King Me CD featuring songs from our upcoming CD "This Place & Time" including "Little Miss Paint", "Shake the Cradle", "Pull Myself Together" and a version of "Liquefied" that will not be released on "This Place & Time". Clean out your pantry and be the first on your block to have these songs.
Another exciting live music event is happening on Wednesday night. Our good friends in Shaft are back after a long absence and they're back with a vengeance. Shaft is having a big CD release show Wednesday night at America's Pub and we want to encourage everybody to attend. Admission to the show is only $10 and that includes a free copy of their new CD, "Wishful Thinking". The doors open at 7:00 and the show starts at 8:00. And not to worry, the show will be over at 10:00 - just in time to head across the street to Loft 150 and catch Happy Endings starting the Pre-Thanksgiving Bash.

Break Out Your Cans Party People!
It's canned food drive time again and we need your help. We're off to a slow start this year and we're counting on you to pick up the pace this weekend and get some food out for the Kansas Food Bank. Keep in mind that donations can be left at both Wherehouse Music locations, The Grape, Loft 150 and Midwest Drum and Percussion during business hours throughout the month of November.
This Thursday, November 15th, come out for a huge acoustic invitational at Loft 150 at the River City Brewery in Wichita. These acoustic invitationals have been great nights of music and this one looks like it will be the biggest. We are fired up this week to have, as our special guests, Trim, Factor 8, Monterey Jack and Jamie Quick. The show starts at 9:30. Plus, get $1 off your cover charge with your canned good donation. Remember, Loft 150 is 18 to enter, 21 to drink.
Friday & Saturday, November 16th & 17th, it's King Me rocking the Wine & Cheese set at The Grape in Wichita. The Grape shows start at 9:00 with an acoustic set and continue through the night with the partying and pandemonium you've come to expect from a King Me show. The Grape never has a cover, but is that any reason to leave your canned food donations at home? I think not.
And get ready for next Wednesday, November 21st, it's party that people talk about all year. It's the annual King Me Pre-Thanksgiving Bash at the Loft 150 in Wichita. You don't have to work the next day and if you're lucky, you're buzz might just last you through dinner with the family. And, still a $1 off admission with a canned food donation. Still 18 to enter, 21 to drink.
Also, we've been getting great response to "Little Miss Paint" as it's being played on Wichita's Fly 92.7. They've been getting lots of requests via phone calls and e-mails. We're grateful to you for requesting the song and, we're grateful to them for playing it. So, keep up the pressure and give them a call at 316-683-5267 or e-mail Corey at CoreyFly927@aol.com and let them know you appreciate them playing King Me on the radio in Wichita.

Gas Up and Tune In Party People!
There's lots to get to this week, so here we go. Come out this Thursday night, November 8th, to the Slow Duck in Tulsa, OK. We haven't hit the Slow Duck for a while and Thursday night should be a welcome return.\
Friday night, November 9th, we're staying in Tulsa for the pleasure of opening for Tulsa favorites Mad Verb at the Full Moon 15th Street. This is going to be an acoustic evening with a few surprises. So, come out early and plan to stay a while. Plus, we'd like to ask those of you in Tulsa to continue to request King Me on radio station KMOD.
Saturday night, it's concert night in Springfield, MO with King Me, Happy Endings, and two other bands at The Juke Joint. This will be an ALL AGES show and promises to be a big night of live, original music.
Next Thursday, November 15th, it's an acoustic invitational at Loft 150 in Wichita. Friday and Saturday, November 16th and 17th, King Me returns to The Grape in Wichita. And, make plans now to be a part of the Pre-Thanksgiving Bash at Loft 150 on November 21st. It's the party of the year.
Now, on to bigger issues. It's time to remind you that our canned food drive for the Kansas Food Bank is underway. Donation bins are in place at both Wherehouse Music locations in Wichita, The Grape, Loft 150 and Midwest Drum and Percussion. Putting food on the tables of our neighbors in need is the right thing to do. Wichita is having a rough year and the food bank needs your help. Drop off your donations while you're out running around, or when you come to any King Me show this November.
But wait, there's more. Local station Fly 92.7 has been spinning some King Me songs lately and we're very grateful. They have been generous enough to add "Thindy Brady" and an unreleased song "Little Miss Paint" to their rotation as well as playing King Me during their local music show on Friday afternoons. So, what we'd like to ask you to do is give them a call at 316-683-5267 or e-mail Corey at CoreyFly927@aol.com and let them know you appreciate them playing King Me on the radio in Wichita. Plus, request "Little Miss Paint" and "Pull Myself Together" and let us know how you think the material for the upcoming CD is coming along.
And, just a little more. Check out the "Go" section of the Wichita Eagle as King Me is featured in the "Pop Quiz" portion of the paper.

Head North Party People!
This weekend King Me returns to Minnesota for the first time since the Moondance Jam and we can't wait to see our friends from up north. Come out Thursday night, November 1st, to The First Draft Choice in Coon Rapids, MN. November 2nd, we stick around the Twin Cities area for a show at Boxers in Faribault, MN. We also want people to tune into 101.7 WHMH and listen for King Me songs. If you don't hear them, give them a call and make a request.
Saturday night, November 3rd, King Me heads to party central in Springfield, MO for a night of fun and pandemonium at Cartoons. It's no secret that we love playing Cartoons and hope to see all of our trouble making friends from Springfield on Saturday night.
Also, it's that time of year for King Me's annualcanned food drive for the Kansas Food Bank. We'll be taking donations at our shows at The Grape and Loft 150 in November. Plus, you can drop off your donations any time at The Grape, Loft 150/River City Brewery, Midwest Drum and Percussion and both Wherehouse Music locations in Wichita. With the Wichita economy being hit as hard as it has, this year's food drive is probably the most important one we've done. So, give generously.

Get Ready For A Huge Live
Music Weekend Party People!
First, we want to thank everyone who attended the Loft 150 shows last weekend. We had two great nights and had a lot of fun. Thanks also to all of the people who participated in the acoustic invitational and to our surprise guests Montezuma for making the weekend even more entertaining.
But just when you thought live music had peaked in Wichita, there's this weekend's lineup at the Port of Wichita. Friday night, October 26th, we're honored to be performing with our friends from Factor 8. Factor 8 is on a tear right now and they'll be putting on a great show Friday. Saturday night, October 27th, we'll be sharing the bill with the newly elected "Best Band in Wichita" Room Full of Walters. We haven't had a chance to do a show with these guys in ages and can't wait to see them play, catch up on old times, swap recipes, etc. Come out early and stake out your place on the dance floor.

The show starts at 9:00 with an acoustic set from King Me and continues on with our friends, Chris Dickerson, Jamie Quick, Donelle, Lonneke and Blame Jaded. After that, King Me will get back onstage, plug in and tear it up until they kick us out. I can't begin to explain to those of you who haven't been to one of these shows how cool they really are. It's your only chance to see a lot of these acts perform and it's also a rocking party. Saturday, October 20th, it's all King Me, all night long. Some nights we simply share better than others. We're going to have a couple tricks up our sleeve though, so you'll want make it out to this one.
Next weekend King Me returns to the Port of Wichita. Friday night we'll be joined by our friends in Factor 8. Saturday night, we'll be sharing the bill with The Room Full of Walters. Make plans now. This promises to be a fun show with a few surprises. So, come out early and plan on calling in sick on Friday. Or, don't call in and let them fire you. They don't appreciate what a good job you do anyway.
Friday, October 12th, it's King Me at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. We had a blast last time at George's and hope to see some familiar faces this Friday night.
Next week, October 19th & 20th, it's King Me at Loft 150 above the River City Brewery in Wichita. Friday night will be an acoustic invitational with lots of acts and then Saturday is King Me, King Me, King Me.

This Thursday, October 4th, it's King Me upstairs at Loft 150 at the River
City Brewery in Wichita, KS. This show was originally scheduled to be an
acoustic invitational but that has been rescheduled for October 19th. Instead,
this is going to be a hard wired, inspired and fired up version of King Me with
fog, lights and a bunch of bachelorettes. Did I say bachelorettes? I think I did.
From 7:00 - 9:00, Loft 150 will be closed to men while the women bid on
Wichita's most eligible bachelors in a KKRD bachelor auction for charity. After
9:00, the loft segregation ends and the partying starts. Don't forget that Loft
150 is 18 to enter and 21 to drink.
Next Thursday, October 11th, King Me hits the stage in Tulsa, OK. We're not sure what stage yet. But, we'll keep you posted.
Friday, October 12th, King Me returns to George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. We've almost recovered from our last show at George's and we should be in good shape for a return next week.

Hey Party People!
Come out this Thursday night, September 27th, to America's Pub in Wichita, KS. This will be King Me's last Thursday night on the patio this season and we're going to make it one to remember. Or, if you indulge in too many "dollar hollers", we'll make it one you wish you could remember. In addition to all the cheap drinks, cool music and sexy people that mad The Pub famous, we'll be joined on stage by our friend Jamie Quick to do some songs. Those of you who've seen Jamie perform at the acoustic invitationals know that he'll make the show even cooler. Plus, I need a good Thursday night to help get my first weekend since the series finale of Xena Warrior Princess off to a good start. Battle on Xena!
Next Thursday, join King Me and some special guests at Loft 150 at the River City Brewery in Wichita, KS. It's the October version of our acoustic invitational and we've got a great lineup in the works. We'll be joined next week Danelle, TJ Clancy & Ron Hill, Factor 8, Jamie Quick and more. There's not a better opportunity in Wichita to see and hear such a diverse group of performers in one place. Plus, these shows are just plain fun.
We would also like to share a recently published interview with everyone by Jeb Wright at classicrockrevisited.com. Give it a read and let us or Jeb know what you think. It's going to be a busy King Me week full of shows with a purpose and performances with reckless abandon.
Come out tonight, September 18th, to Rita's Little Uptown in Wichita to show your support for the American Red Cross in this time of dire need. This is an all ages show and admission is a simple $5 donation. Six bands will play starting at 7:00. Come out and see King Me, Trim, Factor 8, Blame Jaded, Woodstone, SixPercent and Less than Half. This is going to be a very cool night of live music organized by the guys in Trim and it's for an excellent cause. Even if you're not quite up to partying yet, swing by and make a donation.
Thursday night, September 20th, it's King Me at Niener's in Independence, MO. Niener's has a reputation for being a hard rocking, adrenaline packed, concert venue and we are fired up to be headlining this show with former Intergalactic Cowboys members Crunchy.
Friday night, September 21st, King Me returns to Fayetteville, AR to George's. This should be a huge show and we want to see all the people who supported us last time in the front row.
Saturday night, September 22nd, King Me hits Springfield, MO to play at one of our favorite venues of all time, Cartoons. We miss our friends in Springfield and are looking forward to winding up the weekend with a big party.
We'll be back in Wichita next Thursday, September 27th, at America's Pub for our last show on the patio this season. But, more on that next week.

Greetings Party People!
First, we'd be remiss if we didn't do our part in this e-mail to encourage you to do what you can to assist those in need at this time of national crisis. Here's a link to some sites that can tell you how you can best help - http://specials.msn.com/special/help.asp.
Also, considering the grief and anger being felt by many of us, it is important to remember that extremists made these attacks. There is absolutely no reason to cast abject hate or resentment towards any person or group of people from any other country or religion.
I guess all we're trying to say is, "give peace a chance". Until, of course, we find the responsible parties and kill them.
Next, we want to sincerely thank all of the performers who joined us at Loft 150 last Thursday as well as Madverb and the good people of Tulsa for showing us a good time over the weekend.
Come out this Thursday, September 13th, to see King Me return to Tulsa to play at Steamroller Blues on S. Boston Street. We had a whole lot of fun in Tulsa last weekend and are anxious to get back and see all of our old and new friends.
This weekend, September 14th & 15th,it's King Me at The Grape in Wichita. We're excited to be back for a weekend in Wichita and we are ready to rock the wine & cheese crowd at The Grape. We're going to start the shows this weekend with an acoustic set, so getout early and hear King Me unplugged.
We would also like to share a recently published interview with everyone by Jeb Wright at classicrockrevisited.com. Give it a read and let us or Jeb know whatyou think. Come Out & Dance
Party People!
It's King Me playing acoustic and packing some sack lunches for Tulsa with those little pudding packs with the little metal rings that always broke and the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that always seemed to get flattened to the size of bible-paper and those soda's that inevitably exploded and made you look like the class dumb-ass. Was that just me?
I think what I meant to say was, "Come out this Thursday, September 6th, to Loft 150 at the River City Brewery for an acoustic show featuring King Me and special guests Blame Jaded, Jamie Quick, Trim, Montezuma & Factor 8". These Thursday night shows are proving to be some of the best nights of live music in Wichita and just perhaps some of the biggest party nights on the North American continent. Of course, I see double of everyone. The show starts at 9:00 and it's 18 to enter - 21 to drink.
Friday night, Sepetember 7th, it's King Me in Tulsa, Oklahoma opening for Tulsa favorites Madverb at The Majestic. We're excited to be back in Tulsa and are looking forward to watching Madverb.
Saturday, September 8th, it's a full night of King Me at the Full Moon - Cherry Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma because one night just couldn't be enough to take care of the jones we have to be in Tulsa.
That's why next Thursday, September 13th, King Me will be playing at Steamroller Blues in Tulsa. That should be just enough King Me for Tulsa and just enough Tulsa for King Me. We'll both save some for next time.
Then, next weekend, September 14th & 15th, it's King Me at The Grape in Wichita, KS. The Grape is known for it's eclectic menu, it's expansive wine list and live rock music every weekend.

This Thursday, Friday & Saturday - August 16th, 17th & 18th, King Me is back in Wichita and down to business on the patio at America's Pub. This will be our last full weekend at the Pub this year and we want to give them something to remember us by.
Plus, excitement abounds as King Me makes our movie soundtrack premiere this Saturday, August 18th, for the locally produced film "Ordinary World". Be a part of the Premiere at the Center for the Arts on 9112 East Central at 8:00. For more information call 316/634-2787. We encourage everybody to support local talent and go see the film. Lace 'em Up Party People!
History has consistently been changed by people on their feet. Whether it was Socrates taking every step towards Olympus, Martin Luther walking up to a church door, Susan B. Anthony marching for women's rights, or Martin Luther King Jr., marching on Washington, DC the ability of a couple feet and good intentions to change the world is now a forgone conclusion.
All that being said, King Me is here to help you on the first step in your mission to make the world a better place. Good footwear!! Come out this Thursday, July 26th, to Shoe Carnival at the corner of 21st and Maize road in Wichita. King Me will be playing from 11:00 - 12:00 and again from 5:00 - 6:00. This show is going to be a lot of fun and not at all what you'd expect from the grand opening of a shoe store. It's not your typical shoe store. Not only will King Me be there, but also Ed "Too Tall" Jones. I'm not terribly sports literate, but I can tell you that Too Tall Jones was born Edward Lee Jones on February 23, 1951, in Jackson, Tennessee. He graduated from Merry High School in Jackson and attended Tennessee State University. Jones was the number one draft choice of the NFL in 1974. Jones played defensive end for the Dallas Cowboys from 1974 through 1978, attempted a professional boxing career winning all of his bouts in 1979, and returned to Dallas to play for the Cowboys from 1980 through 1989. He was named MVP in 1982, All Pro in 1981 and 1982, and played in 16 playoff games, including 3 Super Bowls. Jones played on three NFC Championship teams and the 1978 Super Bowl winner. He retired in 1989 after 15 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. All that, plus great deals on lots of cool shoes and King Me. One small step for man. One giant leap for footwear in Wichita.
July 28th, it's King Me at Wadestock in Iola, KS. Iola is a short drive from Wichita, Pittsburg, KS, Springfield, MO, Kansas City and pretty much central to the world. This is going to be a very cool, very fun festival with lots of regional acts and King Me on the main stage to end the evening. Admission is only $10. You can bring in tents, canned beverages, coolers, lawn chairs and pretty much everything else except a bad attitude and bottles.

It's that time of year again in Wichita where King Me likes to get together with a few thousand of our closest friends for the Wichita River Festival.
Come out this Saturday, May 12th, to see King Me perform at the Wichita River Festival Block Party. This is a FREE, ALL AGES event. The show starts at 5:30 at Douglas and Washington in front of the Larkspur Restaurant. Get there early so you aren't stuck in line for a funnel cake while the band's playing.
That night, come see King Me at the most rockin Block Party after party in Riverfest history at the River City Brewery at First & Mosely. This is going to be a lot of fun and a great way to kick off the biggest event of the year. The show is 18 to enter - 21 to drink. So, come out and see the newly remodeled upstairs at The Brewery and share stories about Windwagon Smith.
King Me needs a few volunteers on Saturday. So, if you're interested in helping out, please e-mail me and let me know. The pay sucks, but the work's easy, and we know you're going to the block party anyway.

2000 was the biggest year ever for King Me. We played 103 shows at over 30 venues in 11 cities across the region. We also had the privilege of sharing the bill with some great bands such as Full Devil Jacket, Caroline's Spine, UPO, Godsmack and Foreigner. We gained a van. We lost a van. But in the process of all of that, we've met some terrific people, written some of our best songs to date, had a ton of fun, and have a tremendous resolve going into 2001. We want to sincerely and humbly thank all of you who have supported us, not only in this last year, but throughout. We are very grateful to each of you. We couldn't have accomplished what we have without you. And, even if we could have, there wouldn't be much point.
For 2001, we're looking forward to producing a new CD, expanding our travels in a new van, and putting on bigger and better shows. The best is yet to come. The best songs remain unsung.
