Break Out Those Cans and
Get Lofty Party People!

It's that time of the year again when we at Camp King Me try to use our power for good instead of evil. Our canned food drive is in business and this year, like every year we are counting on you to deliver. Bins are in place at Loft 150, The Port of Wichita, Midwest Drum and Percussion and both Wherehouse Music locations in Wichita until December 21st. Swing by as you do your partying and holiday shopping and make your donations of canned goods and warm clothes for Operation Holiday. The King Me tribe has always made great contributions in the past and we're sure this season will be no exception. You never cease to impress us with your generosity.

Come out this Thursday, November 21st to see King Me host the November edition of the Acoustic Invitational at Loft 150/River City Brewery. This time, like every time, we've got a great lineup with Rachel Kice, Jeremy Hollenbeck, Me, Jamie Quick, Shaft and King Me. This really will be a very cool night of music and don't forget that it's 18 to enter and the show starts at 9:00.

This Friday night, November 22nd, it's a huge benefit show for Operation Holiday. Come see King Me with guests Shaft, Surphace and Faded at Loft 150/River City Brewery. It's only $4 to get in. But, if you bring a can of food you get a dollar off. If you bring 3 cans of food or donate a coat you get in for $2. We're going to have some prizes for the people who bring out the most food including River City Brewery gift certificates, a $50 gift certificate from Midwest Drum and Percussion and some special prizes from us. So, raid your pantry and come out ready to raise some hell for a good cause.

Saturday night, November 23rd, it's full frontal King Me at Loft 150. It's going to be all King Me all night and we're ready to wind up the weekend with a big night of fun.

Get Ready!! Wednesday, November 27th, it's the biggest party of the year with the annual King Me Pre-Thanksgiving Bash at Loft 150/River City Brewery. This is a no-holds-barred, cage match of a celebration and one that's not to be missed. You don't have to work the next day. And, putting up with relatives, eating your weight and watching football are all more fun with a hangover. This will absolutely be the biggest party of the year. It's 18 to enter, 21 to drink and it will give you just a little more to be thankful for.

Now, for the big announcement. It's time to put the rumors to rest. Not that the rumors aren't more entertaining than the truth. Here goes. New Year's Eve is the last show King Me has booked. Russell's leaving for L.A. in January and we're going to take this time to sell the van, the trailer and some of our gear to try and get ourselves out of the incredible debt incurred in the making of our last CD. Plus, we just need a break. We've played over 100 shows per year for the past six years in a row. We're just due for a breather. Let us see what happens when we get the debt paid off and some sleep. In the meantime, you never know where one or more of us might show up. We're all still very good friends. We have a great time performing together. We're not ruling out booking shows in the future, Pete is not going to L.A. to join the Lakers, Steve is not pregnant, Russell is not an alcoholic, I am not going to become a women's volleyball coach. But, I can dream. We just need to get out of debt and have a little time to get our act together. After that, who knows.

Speaking of New Year's Eve - seating is limited and it's going to be a sendoff of epic proportions. Get your tickets now at the River City Brewery. The tickets are $30 for an individual and $50 for a couple. Your ticket includes a fabulous buffet, a champagne toast at midnight and at 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 they're going to giving away prizes, having contests and getting the party started. In the words of our friend Preston; it will be, "hella fun."

In the meantime, we will be selling our CDs for $5 at our shows until the end of the year. If you're like me and hate the malls during the holidays you might want to consider King Me CDs for those on your gift list. They make a great stocking stuffer and you can drink while you shop! And, if that special person on your gift list needs any band gear, let us know. Wear Something Sexy! Drink Lots of Budweiser! We'll See You at the Shows!

Break Out The Popcorn
Party People!

It's King Me on the big screen this weekend, October 4th & 5th. Okay, so it's not really King Me as such. But, it's a film by our friend Rod Pocowatchit featuring music from King Me and cameo appearances by me and Steve. Here's the specifics in the words of the director, himself.

Written and directed by Rod Pocowatchit, and developed with the assistance of the Sundance Film Institute, "Dancing on the Moon" follows the adventures of three Native American friends on the road to a powwow. When they get stranded in the middle of Kansas, they must overcome remorse and sorrow when faced with tragedy. 8 p.m. Oct. 4 and 5 at the Orpheum Theatre, First and Broadway. Doors open at 7. Tickets are $5 at the door. There will be a brief Q&A after the screenings. For more information on the movie, go to www.harmyfilms.com

This is a great way to support the efforts of local artists and should be a lot of fun. Rod has done some really good work in the past and I have no doubt that this will be even better.

Next Thursday, October 10th, King Me heads to Dallas, TX to open for the Tiffany Shea band at The Redblood Club in Deep Ellum. It's our first time to Texas and we're excited to be making the trip. So, for all of the displaced Wichitans in Dallas, please come out and bring some friends. Let's make it a big night.

Next Friday and Saturday, October 11th & 12, King Me returns to Wichita for two huge nights at The Grape. There's nothing quite like rocking the wine and cheese crowd and we're looking forward to seeing our friends at The Grape next weekend.

The Summer's Not Quite
Over Party People!

There's one more bit of business we need to attend to before declaring the summer over and that's going to happen this weekend, Septemeber 19th - 21st on the patio of America's Pub in Wichita, KS. We love playing the patio and this weekend will be the last time this summer. So, we're going to bid it farewell as only King Me can do it. Thursday nights all drinks are "Dollar Holler". Friday and Saturday we are honored to have Faded as our special guests. And, you never know what other surprises we might throw at you this weekend.

Sunday night, September 22nd, we will be playing the big FLY 92.7 party at Club Groove in Wichita with Shaft and Factor 8. These shows are the type of parties that leave you shaking your head in disbelief days later. It is 18 to enter and 21 to drink this Sunday night. We'll start the show off around 9:00 with Factor 8 and Shaft just behind us. This is a huge lineup and it's going to be a great time. We want to thank 92.7 for all of their unfailing support of live music in Wichita. Come out Sunday night and thank them in person.

We also want to thank all of you for making us one of the most played bands on XM radio's unsigned bands station. This is no small accomplishment and we have you to thank for it. So, thanks. Now, however, is the time I hit you up to keep the pressure on. Please call XM Radio at 866-267-0448 or visit their webpage and send them an e-mail request. If you're going to call, try to make it after 8:00 pm Central time. That may sound a little odd, but if you call after 8:00 pm, the phone rings directly to the New York offices of XM Radio; right to the desk of Mr. Big.

Next Friday, September 27th, it's King Me at the Hyatt Regency Park in Wichita, KS for the Wichita Festival's Take Off Party. We'll start playing around 7:00 and keep the party going until around 11:00. This is an ALL AGES event and admission is only $5.      Friday & Saturday, September 13th & 14th, it's King Me at The Port of Wichita!! The Port is always a great place to get wild and we are going to make that happen this weekend. They'll have drink specials deluxe and because it's The Port I might even have to tell the "Pirate Joke".

Saturday, September 13th, it's a RESCHEDULE!! We will not be playing McConnell Air Force Base on Sunday! We will be playing SATURDAY from 4:00-6:00 as part of the McConnell Air Show. Friday & Saturday, it's King Me plugged in and fired up with special guest Jamie Quick.

Saturday we are honored to be a part of a benefit for Wichita State student Rachel Fletcher. Rachel is raising money for a double lung transplant and needs your help. Loft 150 is donating $1 from your cover charge and $1 from every Amber beer sold to help Rachel. This is obviously a good cause and an opportunity to aid someone in need while raising hell and listening to music. And, let me just say that their Amber a thing of beauty. So come out and have the warm feeling inside that comes from knowing that you're decadence is really an act of charity. Although, I don't think you'll be able to deduct your bar tab on your taxes.

It's going to be a huge weekend at Camp King Me. So, break open your piggy banks, break out your sexy clothes and break your way through the traffic to the biggest party in Old Town with King Me at Loft 150.

Friday, June 7th, listen for King Me on the air at Fly 92.7 at 10:00. We'll be talking about the CD, playing some songs and giving away some passes to the shows and some CDs. Mostly, I'll be trying not to use any words that will get them in trouble with the FCC.

Saturday, June 8th - Rita's Little Uptown - Wichita, KS - It's the CD Release Concert. Doors open at 7:00. The show starts at 7:30 with our special guests Torn and Good People. This is an ALL AGES show! Admission is only $10 for those under 21 and $7 for those over 21.

But the party doesn't stop there. The night continues wth a huge AFTER PARTY at Loft 150/River City Brewery. We'd like to get some airplay on these stations but if they aren't willing, you can always get some King Me on our favorite station Fly 92.7. It's very important to us at this time to sincerely thank The Fly and it's staff for all of their support for us and for local music in general. They rock. Give them a call at 316/436-5573 and tell them thanks. And, be sure to patronize the people who advertise on their station and tell them you appreciate them supporting a station that's taking risks on new music.

Also, it's important for us to thank all of you. The fact that we're releasing a CD today has everything to do with you. Thank you.

It's Here Party People!

King Me's second album, "This Place and Time" is here at last and you can be a part of the celebration with a week's worth of fun.

This Saturday night, June 1st, it's King Me at Curly's in Tulsa, OK. This is a very cool ALL AGES venue that sells alcohol to those over 21. We're honored to share the bill with Tulsa favorites Seventeen Years and Chosen. Plus, as an added bonus, this Saturday night will be the first time that "This Place and Time" will be available for sale. So, if you can't wait until Tuesday, make the short road trip to Tulsa and you can sing along all the way back to Kansas.

Tuesday, June 4th, it's the official release party at CD Warehouse East in Wichita. We'll do an acoustic set starting at 7:00 and stick around and sign CDs for a while afterwards. CD Warehouse East is located in the Eastgate Shopping Center at Kellogg and Rock Road. It's all ages and admission is free.

Saturday, June 8th, it's going to be an all night party. First, come out to Rita's Little Uptown in Wichita for an all ages concert with special guest Torn and Good People. This is going to be a big show and we want to see you all there. The doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00. Admission is only $7.00 for those over 21 and $10 for those under 21.

But we won't be done partying for the night by a long shot. The CD release after party will be right down the street from Rita's at Loft 150/River City Brewery. Our friends from Kerve will start playing there at 9:30 and we'll be taking the stage around midnight for one more set. It's 18 to enter and admission is $5.00 or $4.00 with your ticket stub from Rita's. We're going to end the night off with a bang and raise just a little more hell with our friends at The Loft.

Sunday, June 9th, we end the week with one more acoustic performance and CD signing party at CD Warehouse West located at 21st and Maize. We'll perform at 4:00 and then stick around and knowing us, shop for CDs and DVDs. And, of course, sign CDs and the like. It's all ages and admission is free.

Lastly, we want to again thank the great staff at Fly 92.7 for playing our music and sponsoring our big CD release show at Rita's Little Uptown on June 8th. KICT-95 and KKRD have our music and are still deciding whether or not they want to put it on the air. At this point, we're asking you to give them a call and let them know you'd like to hear some King Me on their stations. The request line for T-95 is (316) 436-1095 and the request line for KKRD is (316) 436-5573. Call them often. Also, call the good folks at The Fly, (316) 683-5267and tell them thanks.      Did I mention that our new CD, "This Place and Time" is coming out June 4th?

Also, we want to once again thank the great staff at Fly 92.7 for being the first, and at this point, only station in Wichita playing our music. They are sponsoring our big CD release show at Rita's Little Uptown on June 8th and we sincerely appreciate the staff and the station. KICT-95 and KKRD have our music and are currently deciding whether or not they want to put it on the air. If you feel inclined, send them a call or an e-mail and let them know you'd like to hear a little King Me on their stations.      King Me will be the featured band at www.powergig.com. Powergig.com is a very cool website for bands and booking agents. We're very honored to be associated with Powergig.com and flattered with this recognition. Stop by their website and give it a look.

Next Saturday, June 1st, it's King Me back in Tulsa, OK for an all ages show at Curly's. It's shaping up to be a huge show and we simply can't wait to get back to Tulsa.

Get Ready Party People!

If you only go to four King Me shows all week, let these be the shows!

Wednesday, May 15th, King Me gets into The River Festival spirit with a Music-Fest performance at Loft 150/River City Brewery. This is an early show. We start at 7:30 and end at 11:00. So, you'll have plenty of time to go home after work; put on something sexier than your day job clothes; go to The Brewery and have a meal and then head upstairs and get your groove on with King Me this Wednesday night.

Thursday night, May 16th, it's another big Acoustic Invitational at Loft 150/River City Brewery. This will be a show of Freudian proportions with lots of bands. The show starts at 9:00 with performances by Shaft, Kerve, January Sun, Liquid Ladder, Pretty Ugly and King Me! This will be an 18 to enter, 21 to drink concert and should be one of the hottest nights of music to ever hit old town.

Friday, May 17th, it's King Me opening for multi-platinum recording artists Hootie and the Blowfish at Lawrence Dumont Stadium! They are the musical headliner for this year's River Festival and we are honored to be sharing the bill with them. Tickets for this ALL AGES show are available at The Wichita Eagle located at 825 E. Douglas in Wichita or online at http://www.wichitafestivals.com/riverfest.html. Gates open at 6:00 and the show starts at 7:30. Get there early and secure your copy of a limited edition CD release featuring "Little Miss Paint" and "Pull Myself Together" off of our upcoming CD. Thousands of these FREE CDs will be given away as you come through the gates courtesy of Hunter Health Clinic.

And then, later Friday night, join King Me at Loft 150/River City Brewery for the concert after the concert. Rain or shine, the party will be happening! This will be a big night in Old Town and no place will be rocking more than Loft 150.

Saturday, May 18th, it's one more show at Loft 150/River City Brewery. This will be the climax of the entire River Festival! Sure, the bath-tub races are a great time had by all. Sure, Hootie will have been cool. And, yes, the fireworks are always exciting. But, this will be the only event where drinking and raising hell are actually encouraged. Demanded! I will pout if you don't get crazy! It's mandatory decadence Saturday night.

Break Out Your Buttons
and Sunscreen Party People!

It's Riverfest time in Wichita again and that can only mean one thing. At some point, I'm going to get a sunburn. But other than that, it means King Me is going to line up some big shows and have a lot of fun!

Come out Wednesday, May 15th, as King Me participates in the River Festival Music-Fest for an early show at Loft 150/River City Brewery. There will be bands and bards all over Old Town and we intend to have the biggest party of all. The show starts at 7:30 and goes until 11:00. Come out early and you'll still be home in time to recover well for the rest of the week.

Thursday, May 16th, it's King Me back at Loft 150 for an 18 to enter Acoustic Invitational. We're working on a great lineup for this show and as always these events are a great way to see a lot of bands and performers in one place at one time.

Friday, May 17th, King Me opens up for the Riverfest Headliners, Hootie and the Blowfish at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. The gates open at 6:00 and King Me hits the stage at 7:30. GET TO THIS SHOW EARLY!! Thanks to Hunter Health Clinic we'll be passing out 10,000 CDs featuring "Pull Myself Together" and "Little Miss Paint" from our upcoming CD. Tickets are $15 and $20 and available at The Wichita Eagle located at 825 E. Douglas in Wichita or online at http://www.wichitafestivals.com/riverfest.html.

Later that night - Friday, May 17th - King Me is back at Loft 150 for a full night of fun and mayhem. The Hootie show will have just been a warm-up for the full-frontal celebration that will ensue at the after party in Old Town with King Me.

Saturday, May 18th, King Me winds up the week for one last night at Loft 150/River City Brewery. To celebrate the fun week we had and to celebrate the fact that our upcoming CD, "This Place and Time" is just about to be released, The City of Wichita will be having a huge fireworks display over the Arkansas River. What a supportive city we live in! So come to The Loft after the fireworks and we'll keep the explosive good time going strong.

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! - Before the craziness of Riverfest kicks in; this Sunday afternoon, May 12, local film producer Rod Pocowatchit will be filming a part of his movie, "Dancing on the Moon" at Player's East in Wichita. The filming starts at 2:00 and you're all invited! It's a great opportunity to support a local artist, have a few beers and get to see yourself on the big screen in the future. I even have a small part in the film. So, you can come see me make my screen acting debut.

Gas Up the Wheels
and Hit the Road!
It's Groove on a Stick
Weekend Party People!

I know what you're thinking, yet another King Me road trip. But, little do you suspect the true pandemonium that ensues when King Me hits the road. This weekend will be no exception.

Come out Friday night, April 26th, to see King Me at Plush in Des Moines, IA. It's part of the big Drake Relays party event in Des Moines and we will not be denied our piece of the action. If you've got friends in Des Moines, please send them our way because we're looking for big things in the big city on Friday night.

Saturday night, April 27th, it's party central in Fayetteville, AR as King Me hits the big Rush Week Celebration at 120 Stadium Drive for the Sigma Phi Epsilon bash. The rules are that any girl can get in without incident and guys have to clear the gate. That sounds like something we'd make up. But, really, it's the truth.

Next week, it's King Me's first Thursday night at America's Pub for the season. America's Pub is known for two things on Thursday nights...sexy people and cheap liquor. I'm sure there's a correlation, but why sweat the details.

Friday and Saturday, May 3rd and 4th, it's King Me at The Grape in Wichita. We love The Grape and they love us. But, more about that later.

Then, on Sunday the 5th, it's a huge Cinco De Mayo show with King Me and Shaft at Old Chicago in the east side of Wichita. It's 18 to enter, it starts at 3:00 and goes until sunset and should be just the celebration of independence you've been looking for.

Get Ready Party People!

It's going to be a huge weekend full of music and mayhem on the streets of Wichita.

Come out this Thursday, April 18th, to Loft 150 at The River City Brewery for an acoustic invitational of epic proportions. This month's show features the acoustic stylings of Fist Full of Nickels, Mike and Danny from Trim, Less Than Half, the musical juggernaut known as Pretty Ugly and King Me. I know I sound like a broken record when I tell you that these shows are the coolest thing to happen to music in Wichita since Elvis Presley played the Henry Levitt Arena on December 27, 1976. But, they are the coolest thing to happen to music in Wichita since Elvis Presley played the Henry Levitt Arena on December 27, 1976. The show starts at 9:00 and it 18 to enter.

Friday night, April 19th, King Me rocks the wine and cheese crowd at The Grape in Wichita. The Grape is the most happening place on the east side of town these days and Friday night it will be the place to be. The show starts at 9:00 with an acoustic set and continues on until Jim makes us quit. Get there early so you can pick out a good spot on the dance floor. And remember, there's never a cover charge at The Grape. So, it's like everybody's on the door list.

Saturday night, April 20th, King Me hits the big stage for a big ALL AGES show at Rita's Little Uptown in Wichita. This concert is going to be a blast. We're lucky enough to have our friends in Torn share the bill. If you haven't seen them yet, you need to make sure you're at Rita's when the show starts at 9:00 to check them out. We're very grateful to the staff at Rita's for hosting an ALL AGES show and want to encourage everybody to come out and show their appreciation and get rocked on a Saturday night in Kansas.

Next weekend, King Me hits the road for two big shows. Friday night, April 26th, King Me performs at Plush in Des Moines, IA as a part of the Drake Relays festivities. Saturday Night, we're playing at a private party in Fayetteville, AR. But, our friends from Fayetteville are invited. Send me an e-mail for all the details.

Before You Leave the House
Party People!

It's going to be a huge party road trip this weekend as King Me gets back on the highway for two big shows.

Friday night, April 12th, it's King Me at George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. Our last appearance at George's was one of our most shows fun ever and we can hardly wait to get back to Arkansas and see what kind of trouble we can get into this time. Get there early and plan on sticking around. We've got a bad reputation to live up to and don't intend to dissapoint.

Saturday night, April 13th, King Me heads to our "home away from home", Cartoon's in Springfield, MO. We love the cast and crew at Cartoon's and always have a great crowd and an incredible time when we play there. It will be good to see all of you Saturday night for a loud reunion and a huge party in Springfield, MO.

Next week, King Me is back in Wichita for three big shows. Thursday, April 18th, King Me hosts another huge acoustic invitational at Loft 150/River City Brewery. These shows have been as refreshing to the Wichita music scene as the Osbournes have been to MTV. And, they're 18 to enter. The lineup for next week is shaking out to be a great one.

Next Friday, April 19th, King Me rocks the wine and cheese crowd for a big return to The Grape in Wichita. Get there early for an acoustic set at 9:00.

Saturday, April 20th, it's an ALL AGES show at Rita's Little Uptown with King Me, Torn, and Good People. This will be our first ALL AGES show in a long time and we're excited to see those of you who haven't been able to make it out for a while. We'll have details on set times and cover charges as the date approaches. In the meantime, check out Fly 92.7 and our website for details.

Hey Party People!

King Me is back this weekend, April 5th & 6th at Loft 150/River City Brewery and we will be louder and prouder than ever before. It's looking like Russell will be back in town this weekend so we'll have both Russell and Jason on stage with us. It will be the first time we'll have played a whole show with both guys and it is going to be a rock version of those Wrigleys gum commercial with the twins...only that they don't look anything alike.

Next weekend, King Me is back on the road for two big shows. Friday night, April 12th, we will be back at Arkansas' party central, George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville. George's is a blast and we'll be bringing out our best for a packed house on Dickson street.

Saturday night, April 13th, we get to see our good friends at Cartoon's in Springfield, MO. We love the cast and crew at Cartoon's and can't wait to see everybody next Saturday night.

We also want to say thanks again to the good and gracious folks at Wichita's Party Station Fly 92.7. Tune them in. Also visit their website at http://www.fly927.com. Tell their staff and advertisers that you appreciate having a station around that supports local/regional music.

Come out this Thursday night, March 21st, for a huge acoustic invitational at Loft 150 upstairs at The River City Brewery. This might just be the best show ever. We are honored to have performing with us, Kerve (former members of Blame Jaded with our own Steve Green on drums), Jamie Quick, Paul Christian, Liquid Ladder (former member of Monterey Jack & T.J. Clancy), Shaft and King Me. This week we are welcoming our prodigal guitarist and Limp Bizkit guitarist finalist, Russell Ali back to the stage. Russell's back in town for a couple days and we're going to have some fun on Thursday night. Remember, it's 18 to enter at Loft 150. Doors open at 8:00 and the show starts at 9:00. This will be our last show for a couple weeks and we want to see you all there. Because we'll miss you.

We want to take a minute to thank our brother Jason Smith who has been filling in on guitar since Russell's adventure began. He's been doing a fantastic job and we hope we can keep him around for the duration.

This coming Monday night, March 25th, take some time to contribute to a good cause at The Port of Wichita. Stephanie, one of our friends and staff members at The Port had a fire in her home and all of her belongings were destroyed. We are proud to be a part of a fundraiser on her behalf along with many other bands from the area. The show starts at 7:00 and features an open jam and auction.

Erin Go Baugh Party People!

I have no idea what that means, but I do know that this weekend will be mean green fun in Wichita with King Me and some friends.

Friday, March 15th, it's King Me at Loft 150 at the River City Brewery with a mystery opening act to be announced. It's 18 to enter and will be a great way to kick St. Pat's weekend off with a bang and a Budweiser.

Saturday, March 16th, it's a full day of live music and King Me in Old Town. Starting at 1:00, America's Pub will be featuring some of the coolest bands in the region. Come out and see Sonic Distortion, Good For Nothing, Pretty Ugly, End of Story and King Me all for only $3. A bargain at any price. Our set will probably be around 7:00. After that, we load up our lucky charms and run across the street to Loft 150 to catch our opening act Paul Christian. Paul is a great singer/songwriter and we're honored to have him opening for us Saturday night. Don't forget the Loft 150 is 18 to enter - 21 to drink. This is going to be a very fun show and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Next Thursday we're back at Loft 150 to host another acoustic invitational. We'll get all the details to you in our next e-mail. But know this...it will be fun.

We want to thank Corey and Steve from Fly 92.7 for having us all on the air last Saturday and to the whole crew at 92.7 for playing King Me and other local/regional acts. It was a fun interview and we appreciate them calling Russell in L.A. so we could get the latest on his adventures with Limp Bizkit. Go to the Fly 92.7 website at www.fly927.com and send them an e-mail saying, "thanks".

Cast Your Sails Party People!

This weekend, March 8th & 9th, King Me hits the Port of Wichita for a previously unscheduled bit of shore leave. This is going to be a huge weekend filled with sexy people, cold Budweiser and special performances from our friends in Shaft starting the shows off at 9:30. Be prepared for some surprises and the good time that can always be expected at a King Me show.

We want to express a huge amount of gratitude to our friend Jason Smith for saving our asses on Saturday night. We got the news that Russell would be leaving on Friday and by Saturday evening Jason had learned three sets worth of material which he performed marvelously. Thanks also to the staff at The Grape for another great weekend.

Next weekend it's a big St. Patrick's Day extravaganza with King Me at Loft 150 above the River City Brewery and at America's Pub. We'll be at The Loft on Friday night and then perform an early set at The Pub on Saturday before bringing out the Irish in everyone for the rest of the evening at The Loft. Be prepared to wear something green and sexy.

Russell News

The big news from Camp King Me is that our guitarist Russell Ali is a finalist in the Limp Bizkit search for a new guitar player. Over 6,000 guitarists auditioned for the shot and Russell is only a few finalists. He is in L.A. now and has been hanging out with and jamming with Limp Bizkit and the singer for Puddle of Mudd. We are all very excited for and proud of Russell and wish him the best of luck with this incredible opportunity. As for the future of King Me, we're pressing forward and eagerly anticipate the forthcoming release of our second CD, "This Place and Time".

Hey Party People!

The weekend at The Grape went so well last week that we're doing it again. Come out this Friday and Saturday, March 1st & 2nd, and see King Me at The Grape in Wichita. We plan on bringing March in like a lion and sending it home in a cab with a smile it's face. That's just the kind of guys we are. Remember that the show starts at 9:00 at The Grape with an acoustic set.

Next weekend, March 8th & 9th, King Me hits The Port of Wichita for some previously unscheduled shore leave. We'll be bringing out some surprises for these shows so you won't want to miss them.

Lastly, it's time we address the rumors going around Wichita and the internet regarding our guitarist, Russell Ali. Let's set the record straight. Russell did, in fact, audition for the guitarist position with international rock stars Limp Bizkit. Russell got to jam with Limp Bizkit and is considered a finalist for the job. We at Camp King Me couldn't be happier or more excited for him. Russell is a phoenomenal guitarist and a great friend. We are glad that he's received the recognition he so richly deserves and wish him nothing but the best of luck. We only know that he's a finalist and probably won't learn more until some time in March. In the meantime, keep checking our website at http://www.kingmenet.com for the latest news and to avoid falling prey to some of the other rumors circulating such as Steve joining Creed.

Get Ready Party People!

Come out this Thursday night, February 21st, to Loft 150 above the River City Brewery in Wichita for this month's acoustic invitational. We've told you all that these shows are the coolest thing going in Wichita for live music and the increasing crowds at every show would seem to support that. This is the place to be Thursday night. Our lineup includes King Me, Less Than Half, Robert White, Glenn Doggett and a few surprises. Don't forget that Loft 150 is 18 to enter.

Friday and Saturday, February 22nd & 23rd, King Me rocks the wine and cheese crowd at The Grape in Wichita. We've set a party precedent at The Grape and we need you all to come out this weekend and help us live up to their expectations. Keep in mind that The Grape shows start at 9:00 with an acoustic set. Next weekend King Me returns to The Grape to kick off the month of March.

Set Sails Party People!

Come see King Me this weekend, February 15th & 16th, at The Port of Wichita. What better way to celebrate Valentine's weekend than with the band that loves you. And don't buy your Valentine a gift in a jewelry box when a King Me CD in a jewell case will do just fine. Love will be in the air for you and that special someone or that someone next this weekend with King Me at The Port.

Next Thursday night, February 21st, it's a night of acoustic music with King Me and some special guests at Loft 150. These acoustic invitationals have proven to be some of the coolest nights of music in Wichita. We're going to have an exceptional lineup of talent and can't wait to see you all there. The show starts at 9:00 and it's 18 to enter - 21 to drink.

Next weekend, February 22nd & 23rd, come see King Me at The Grape in Wichita. We had a huge show last time at The Grape and we aim to keep the momentum going next weekend.

Break Out Your Snow Shovels
and Your Dancing Shoes!

Partying in Wichita has been closed this week due to ice covered streets. But, King Me's got your cure for cabin fever this weekend. The city road crews have assured us that by Saturday night, February 2nd, all roads to Rita's Little Uptown will be cleared in time to see King Me with Torn in a special concert event. This is an 18 to enter, 21 to drink show and has all the makings of a show hot enough to make us believe that spring is just around the corner. Doors open at 8:00 and the show starts at 9:00.

But if that show doesn't quite get you warmed up enough, it's King Me with Bowling for Soup this Tuesday, February 5th, at America's Pub in Wichita. Bowling for Soup is a fast rising band on the national scene and have a reputation for putting on a great show. Plus, this concert is absolutely free. This is one of those shows everyone will be talking about on Wednesday morning so you won't want to miss it.

Other than that, if you're looking for a fun place to celebrate Super Bowl Sunday, Loft 150 at the River City Brewery is hosting the big party on the big screens this Sunday. Since there are no more hard core sports fans in the world than the guys in King Me, we'll be on the front row. That, and cheap beer. Who's playing this year anyway?

Hey Party People!

First and foremost, thanks for a great time last weekend at The Grape. Saturday night we sold them out of every bottle of Bud product they had and then just about every bottle of beer in the house. That, plus emptying three kegs led to one of the biggest nights in The Grape's history. We appreciate you all for coming out and for all of your continued kindness and support. It was some serious fun.

This week the fun continues on Thursday, January 24th, with a huge acoustic invitational at the Loft 150/River City Brewery in Wichita, KS. The show starts at 9:00 with King Me and then continues with music from Mike & Curtis (formerly members of Dose), Kerve (former members of Blame Jaded), Danny & Mike (former members of Trim) Torn, and another set from King Me to wind out the night. I can't begin to tell you how cool these acoustic invitationals have become. It's a vibe like no other in town. Don't forget that Loft 150 is 18 to enter this Thursday night.

Friday night, January 25th, King Me heads back to Fayetteville, AR to see the party crew at George's Majestic Lounge. Our mission Friday will be to put on a great show for the crowd at George's and find some way to avenge the premature demise of so very many innocent brain cells that were destroyed on our last visit. We'll be playing a Happy Hour Concert from 6:00-7:00 and then going back on stage at 10:00 to take the party in to the wee hours.

Saturday night, January 26th, King Me returns to Pittsburg, KS for a big show at McCarthy's Pub. The Getaway Sticks will be getting the party started at 10:00 sharp and then the show will continue with King Me. We're excited to be back in Pittsburg and will be playing a lot of new songs for the crowd in "Gorilla Country". Also, for those of you in the Pittsburg area, check out Todd Loveland's music show on 99.1 KSEK on Thursday night from 7:00-9:00. He'll be playing songs off of our upcoming CD and interviewing Luke sometime around 8:00. So tune in and let us know what you think of the new material.

Put On Your Party Dresses
Party People!

King Me is back in Wichita this weekend, January 18th & 19th, for two big nights at The Grape. We'll be starting at 9:00 both nights with an acoustic set full of music that you may not get to hear at a typical show. So, come out early and sing along. And remember, at the Grape there's never a cover and there's always a good time had by all.

Next Thursday, January 24th, King Me is at The Loft 150 in Wichita for an acoustic invitational. We don't have the full line up yet but we do know that we'll be joined by Mike & Kurt (former members of Dose), Kerve (former members of Blame Jaded), and Torn. I'm sure we'll add a few more by next week and we'll keep you posted.

Next Friday, January 25th, we be returning to one of our new favorite places to play and party - George's Majestic Lounge in Fayetteville, AR. We always have a memorable time at George's and are eager to make more fuzzy memories next week.

Saturday, January 26th, King Me will be back at McCarthy's Pub in Pittsburg, KS. It's been far too long since we've seen our friends in Pittsburg and we look forward to putting on a good show with opening act The Getawaysticks. Should be fun.

Mark Your Calendars Party People!

King Me is heading back to Kansas City this Saturday, January 12th, for a special event at The Hurricane. This Saturday's show is a record label showcase event and promises to be an exciting night of live music. There will be about 20 bands there with each band playing their best material. The show starts at noon and goes until 8:00. King Me will be playing between 5:00 and 7:00. We hope to see some friendly faces in the crowd. If you're interested in more information on this show, send us an e-mail.

Next weekend, January 18th & 19th, King Me will be back at The Grape in Wichita, KS. We always have a very good time at The Grape and are looking forward to rocking the wine and cheese crowd next weekend.

We also wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for a fun and rewarding year in 2001. The band played almost 100 shows at 25 venues in 13 cities across The Midwest. Although it was a rough year when we lost loved ones, struggled to keep our heads above water and mourned the cancellation of Xena Warrior Princess, it was also a year that we made some significant headway. Songs from "About Life" received more airplay in 2001 than ever before, even though the CD is almost three years old. We were added into rotation on a radio station in our hometown, Wichita, for the first time ever. (Thanks again to the good people at Fly 92.7) We're getting close to getting done with our follow up CD, "This Place and Time". We had our best canned food drive in five years. We've written our best songs to date. We're playing better than ever. And, we're having more fun than ever. Most of this, thanks in no small part to you. So, thanks. We really can't tell you how much it means.
